Visvesvaraya Technological University is one of the best and largest technical University of the country which is located in Belgaum, Karnataka. With main aim to improve technical education in the state, formation of this university was done on 1st April 1988 as an affiliating cum public state university by Karnataka Government.

The university offers many undergraduate and graduate courses, both regular and scheme of distance education as well and is also authorized by the government to consume every school or institute related to technical education. This university name was given in honor of Sir Visveraya which is the only state engineer, who was awarded the highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna".
Today, this university has three regional centers based in Bangalore, Gulbarga and Mysore and over 200 schools are currently involved with him. High quality of education of all 101 combined both technical and management courses can be obtained in which 30 undergraduate courses while 71 are graduate.
